Senior Lecturer (G II)

Department of Chemistry

I obtained my B.Sc. (special) degree in Chemistry (first class honors) in 2010 and with that academic qualification I was able to start my academic journey at the Open University of Sri Lanka as a Lecturer (Probationary) in 2011 .

While serving in the department I was granted study leave to read for my Ph.D. degree at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in April 2015.

I earned my Ph.D. in the field of Natural product Chemistry in the year of 2019 based on the study of “Investigation of Secretory Phospholipase A2 inhibitors from selected Sri Lankan medicinal plants as potential therapeutic agents for dengue fever” and my work was presented at local and international research forums.
