Visit to Sinharaja Rain Forest 2019

“Sinharaja Forest Reserve” the largest lowland rainforest in Sri Lanka, one of the world heritage sites declared by UNESCO is a rich, biodiverse habitat bordered by rivers. Though the reserve is only 21 km (13 mi) from east to west, and a maximum of 7 km (4.3 mi) from north to south, it’s a treasure trove of endemic species, including trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. The Green Committee of CESSD visited the “Sinharaja Forest Reserve” on 31st July 2019, a group of 20 members attended to explore the rainforest ecosystem and its hidden secrets of life.
