Prof. C N Herath obtained his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, in 1993 in the field of Textile and Clothing engineering. He joined the Department of Textile and Apparel Technology of the Open University in 1994 as a Lecturer. Later he won the DAAD scholarship and proceeded to Germany to do his Masters. He obtained the MSc degree in Textile and Clothing Engineering from the Technical University, Dresden, Germany, in 2000. In 2004, he proceeded to do Doctor of Philosophy in South Korea under scholarships given by Asian Development Bank and Inha University (South Korea). After finishing PhD in 2007, he returned to the Department of Textile & Apparel Technology of the Open University of Sri Lanka as a senior lecturer and currently working as a Professor in Textile & Apparel Technology in the Open University of Sri Lanka. Also he was the Head /Department of Textile and Apparel Technology in then period of 2018 October to 2018 October.
