The short courses on Chinese Language is a series of courses offered to Sri Lankans in collaboration with the Shanghai Open University in China. This is designed primarily for those who need to learn Chinese language for their day today activities.
These courses are designed to elevate your Chinese language skills as per the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) test proficiency levels. The HSK test is the only official test of Chinese Language Proficiency for non-native speakers. The courses range from basic language courses for higher level and the courses offered will be as follows.
Beginners Course – HSK level 01
A beginner’s course which will allow you to learn the basic communication and language. There will be 15 chapters in this course which will introduce 60 high-frequency Chinese characters and 150 basic words. Additionally, you will get the chance to learn 60 language points.
Intermediate Course – HSK level 02
This is an intermediate course which aims at enhancing the language proficiency beyond basic language characters and points. There will be 34 hours of teaching with 15 chapters. You will be able to learn 150 basic words, with 45 grammar points. In addition to that, knowledge on Chinese characters will be given to those registered for this level.
The courses will be offered at the Colombo Regional Centre and the Kandy Regional Centre on Weekdays from 04.30 p.m. – 06.30 p.m.
